Our Programs
Tutoring:
Tutoring is also offered for all residents who need to improve their grades and knowledge. Our HSP has a degree as a certified teacher and is available to every child Monday through Thursday afternoons during Study. Children receive additional support for grade improvement and comprehension.
Career/Job Enhancement:
- The Director and the ILP for Region 6 help residents define career aspirations and provides support, encouragement and guidance to create a path to achieve their career goals.
- The HSP assist students in understanding their choices for postsecondary education and career training.
- The Director and HSP maintains and nurtures community partnerships that enhance student experiences.
In-Home Educational Enrichment Activity:
Genesis House utilize in-home educational enrichment activities to provide opportunities for character development, personal growth, and team building . The following is a list of things in-home educational enrichment activities include
- Puzzles
- Journal Writing
- Independent Living Skills
- Mock Interviews
- Computer Skills
Recreational Services:
As part of growing up, youth would like to have fun. Having recreational activities allows youth to enjoy themselves, gain social interaction, interpersonal skills, as well as a chance to experience diversity.
Our Director coordinates a variety of activities for our youth, both in and out the home. Some of the activities are provided by Genesis House directly, while others are organized and led by mentors, members of the community, or local businesses.
Our youth also participate in community service activities such as passing out food to needy families. We hope to foster in the youth the gift of caring for others, while expanding their understanding of the world and community around them.
Faith Formation:
The youth at Genesis House are guided by the Bishop of Greater Word of Deliverance. The Bishop is the Director of the Genesis House. We hope to teach all of our residents about the never ending and never failing love that Our Lord and Savior has for each of them. Residents, staff, and guests worship together on Sunday mornings and afternoon and on Wednesday night.
Several activities are offered through the church . Residents are encouraged to participate in the talent show and many other unique activities that promote spiritual growth in age appropriate settings. The many activities offered are made possible and enriched by faithful volunteers of other Congregations who help teach and lead many spiritual life activities.
We hope to foster in the youth the gift of caring for others, while expanding their understanding of the world and community around them.
